In this series of website planning, we cover some useful tips and advice on how to plan your website for success. We will discuss the most important factor for any website is planning.

There will be no tutorials on code or programming. I want to outline why planning and research is so vital in order to gain online success. One of the main features of developing a website is to solely focus on the needs and wants of the target audience.

Here are some of the most critical lessons I’ve learnt over my experience of web design:

Lesson One
We tend to rush into things, although planning can be somewhat dull. Never underestimate the power of research we can eliminate assumptions plus understand the needs of our target audience.

Lesson Two
Never assume things. This is a lesson that can be applied to any aspect of life. Assumptions lead to screw ups. Do your research, find out as much as possible about your target audience.

Lesson Three
A great looking website will not bring in traffic. You need to deliver content that your target audience is interested in, although your website maybe pretty, search engines can not see design. Search engines notice content in the form of HTML. Spend your time creating good, quality before going online.

In the next blog post we will discuss the importance of creating goals for your website.
