Useful Web Link Directories

Create some good back links to your website.

Generating inbound links to your website or blog is an important factor of any marketing strategy. Directories are a simple method of gaining links to your website or blog. Here is a list of useful directories that I have found good from my our experience.

.com based directories

  •  The Open Directory Project (DMOZ) is the most popular directory where Google finds most of the results from. You must submit your website or blog to this address.
  • The Little Web Link Directory. This site doesn’t bring in much traffic, but Google does notice it as a back link to your website.
  • Technorati  if you have a blog make your submit to Technorati a great way of gaining traffic and links.
.co.uk Directories

To be fair, I have noticed more traffic and results from the .co.uk directories. Maybe that is geographic location, however, if you are UK based it is a good idea to submit your links locally. UK Small Business Directory This is one of the best UK link directories, your listing rank high in Google and sometimes higher than my own. A free site well worth linking to. If you are in France there is a French section also.
  • Free Index This is another great free business directory. Where you can create a mini-website an excellent directory.
These are the websites that I have had the most success from. Is there any web directories that you can suggest? Do they offer you any good traffic?

I was not knowing about Zayde and Little Web Link Directory. Thanks for helping me out on this.
There is Yahoo Directory. But this link does come at a price of some $299 per year, a lot of cost, but very much respected by Google.

Yahoo Directory at $300, that is a lot of money for one link, although I’ve been told it is worth it. I wonder if you could invest that $300 on other good links and get more for your money.

I don’t know how many visits or new clients you would get with that.
