Traffic Generation tips from fellow bloggers

Want to gain more traffic? In this post, I speak to three top bloggers on how to increase web traffic. Plus a video on traffic generation tips from myself James King.

“I prefer to generate organic search engine traffic to my blog as this means I’ll get it consistently and permanently. I try to achieve this by focusing on long tail keywords and keyword phrases that have low to medium competition. The rational behind this is that as your blog grows with more content, this strategy will bring you continuous search engine traffic that is both relevant and targeted.”

Peter Lee

“My favourite way is to hold a giveaway contest because you don’t only get traffic from that, but also a whole load of fun interacting with your readers, together with immense possibility of getting new readers as well!”

Ben Pei

It may sound strange as a method, but my favorite method to generate traffic to my site is writing
quality content.

When you write quality content, you get an instant traffic magnet that not only people want to read, they also want to link to and refer it to other people naturally without you even asking for it.

Many of my posts got PR3 with one or two weeks just by the quality of the content without me even trying to build and SEO backlink or what.

Not only that, search engines love quality content, and will help you to rank higher and faster in the search engines result pages which also leads to more traffic.

So with good content, you not only have something that people want to come to your site to read,
they also want to link to it, search engines will favor you, doing SEO work is much easier on a good content that a bad one, and lastly getting link partners is much easier work when you have a good quality content.

Make your readers happy and the search engines will be too.

It’s a great thing to have videos posts, I found my self recently trying to discover more videos or audio content to hear while I am resting my eyes, I agree with you that by the 2010 we will see more of this on blogs.

    Thanks for the nice post!

Nice tips. I know that generating traffic is now one of the most important things. Sadly for me, even more important that putting content on specific webpage. For me blogging was always about writing some interesting posts and now it becomes more and more marketing. There are specific firms and organizations that are destined to make online business by web marketing. There is nothing wrong with that but blogging? The spirit has been lost somewhere…

    Hi,

I argee that a blog is about content, if you focus on content the traffic will appear later.
