Reasons why networking is so important
Why networking is important for bloggers
It doesn’t matter what industry you are in networking is so important. I am sure you’ve heard of the saying:
“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”
Blogging is no exception to networking. In order to be successful you must network. Regardless of your niche your community of followers can help you deliver the message across to your target audience. Many blogs fail without a strong network of followers. Social media tools such as: Twitter and Linkedin can provide a great approach to networking.
Word of warning: Social media sites
From personal experience, set a time limit for how long to use Twitter on a day basis. I use Twitter 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening, otherwise, you I become addicted and realise that half of my day has disappeared. I use Twitter to network with other people in my field. Reason being is that other professionals that are passionate about the content I create, are more likely to share it with their niche.
Top reasons to network with other bloggers
- A blogger in the same position as yourself is more willing to help you out and vice-versa.
- A good method of maintaining relationships with new and current blog readers.
- Create word of mouth publicity.
- Networking creates new business ventures.
- Develop new career opportunities.
- Networking is a great opportunity to learn.
- Networking provides free exposure to your blog or business.
How to build a good relationship with other bloggers
The best approach that has worked for me is help out the person you’re networking with. This is always a good move. Bloggers and smart business people are always looking to build smart lasting relationships. One of the easiest ways to reinforce a good relationship is to build rapport with another blogger.
The easiest way to help out a blogger is to link to them.
The most important tip is create long, lasting relationships and not just another contact. Why not get started today by networking with one blogger every day for 90 days? See how many people reply to you. I’ll let you do the math, but if you make the effort once a day you will see some great results. All businesses require contacts, relationships and networks. Start building your relationships today.

Tom | Build That List
That is really true. The main reason my blog has grown is because of the relationships that I have built with other bloggers. I find it best to try to network this those at the same level and below mainly because they are the ones that understand how it feels to be in your situation.

Hi Hesham,
Great to hear from you. Networking is so powerful. Social media is a great tool as well. I’ve noticed that Twitter is so powerful. I was involved in a seminar training session on Tuesday (last week) the speaker mentioned Twitter a lot. So I’ve got an iPhone plugin called Twitteriffic, I spend one hour a day networking and writing emails so it does pay off.
Inspiration does provide creation.

Hi Tom,
I agree with you, if you try and network with an A-list blogger and are only starting out, a majority of the time, they don’t care. So it is easier to network with people at the same level or below, until you reach that high road. I know it sounds elitist, but sadly that is how blogging works.
