Offline Web Promotion Tips
It is just as important to promote your website offline as it is to create an online marketing strategy. Business owner Chris Nixon of Go Grand Bornand plus Giant Access Ltd, realises the importance of marketing a business offline.
In this post, we will discover the strategies that businesses can use to promote their business offline.
Company Vehicles
One of the most powerful techniques is having your branding printed on your company vehicles, this is brilliant if you have a fleet of cars, vans or lorries. A great method of promoting your business.
Chris the owner of GoGrandBornand.com has a ski chalet and drives his people-carrier through England, Beligum, Switzerland and France. In previous conversation, Chris has had people ask for his business cards whilst waiting in traffic.
Business Cards
You never know when your services may be required. This has cropped up in previous conversations with people I’ve meet. On several occasions, people have enquired about my skills and services, therefore, make sure you carry some business cards. You will regret not carrying business cards.
Other tips for your own business cards
- Use both sides of the card
- Use a professional printers
- Include your website address
- Include the most important features, remember a business card is small
A business card immediately tells the potential customer what type of business you have. First impressions count!
Leaflets
Placing leaflets where your target audience will see them is ideal. Whether it is in supermarkets, local gyms, leisure centres, and places where the public will see them. Make sure you always have your website address on all the marketing that you
do. Your website will be able to hold much more detailed information.
Clothing
T-shirts, jackets, sweat-shirts, polo shirts, baseball caps, fleeces, vests and bags are excellent methods of promoting your business. If your employees wear branded clothing this will indeed make your brand much more stronger. Clothing is a walking advert, on a basic level think of all the designer brands like: Nike, Adidas, Levis and Ben Sherman only to name a few. Their designer brands is their form of advertising. Every time you buy a designer brand of clothing it is a form of advertising to others you meet. When you buy designer labels you are free advertising for their business.
As a customer you are endorsing the brand you are wearing. Football shirts are full of advertising, now why advertise your own business?
Sponsor a local event or charity
Many businesses sponsor local events or charities, because it is the right thing to do. When a business sponsors a charity event it is a great way to great some free coverage from media. Contact your local newspaper about your donation and will make others aware of your business.
Word of mouth
Happy existing customers are more than happy to talk about your business to other business people. Go out of your way to make sure you keep your customers happy. Positive feedback from customers can generate a wave of new customers.
Corporate Literature
Place your website address on all corporate literature including:
- Business Cards
- Pens
- Invoices
- Cheques
- Receipts
- Invoices
- Letterheads
Make sure that your business details are on everything that your company produces.
Trade shows
Visit a trade show and give away freebies, that include your corporate literature, from T-shirts, hats, pens, paper, mouse mats, key rings and anything else that can promote your business. Remember everyone loves something for nothing.

Re: “It is just as important to promote your website offline ”
I was thinking about this just the other day. Consider this …
quote: “over 80 creative and unique business cards from different types of business. Some of them are visually appealing, some have fancy die cut, some are edible, and some are just crazy.”
