Motivation for Online Success

During my experience in the world of web design. I’ve learnt a great deal Firstly, I am going to banish the myths that building a successful online presence can be done overnight. There are people I’ve worked with high yet unrealistic expectations. I’ve been guilty of this so I am not pointing fingers. As long as we learn from those experiences that is what counts. Creating a successful online presence takes time.

Blogging is a long-term commitment

A vast majority of people who decide to do blogging or a website for profit focus on the money. When there website or blog is not making money, they will lose heart and give up. The money is the long-term result. Their priorities are in the wrong order. Like any great business you should serve the customer, first and foremost.

You primary focus must be work on your niche with passion. If you are driven by the money, you will give up when times get hard. Look for reasons beyond money to build a successful blog, so when times get hard you will continue to work on your blog.

What motivates me to create a successful blog

  1. Create a useful resource that helps other people around the world.
  2. Improve my writing skills.
  3. A blog gives me self-confidence.
  4. It is cool to have your own blog.
  5. Knowledge can be very powerful, but by creating a blog others will benefit.
  6. Network and communicate with other like minded people in my niche.
  7. When my blog reaches readers across the globe, this gives me more drive to deliver, new, fresh and better content. In other words, I don’t like letting people down.
  8. Showcase your work to others in your field.
  9. Become a expert in your niche.
  10. A useful method of self-promotion.
  11. Can be used as an online CV.
  12. A blog is great for career security.

Focus on being a giver. Give fresh, new content on a frequent basis and your readers will respect you. At some point they will see you as an expert in your field plus a trustworthy resource.

Focus on the Long-term

Sometimes it can be difficult to see where you want to be in 12 months, 2 years, 5 or 10 years time. It is a good idea to create a plan for the short-term, mid-term and long-term. It may take a while for your blog or website to be a successful income stream. However, you must be committed for the long term. Some of the most successful people ever lived never gave up. People like: Thomas Edison the inventor of the light bulb, Henry Ford, invented the V-8 engine.

These examples have one thing in common they were passionate and never gave up. Sadly I speak to a lot of people that give up on there websites and blogs, because they are not getting the results. Some given up because they were not clear on what they wanted from their blogs or websites.

The key to a successful website or blog is planning. Gather as much research as possible be prepared. A strong building is as only strong as the foundations it was built upon. The same principle applies to your website.

    Thank you,

Life anything worth doing it requires time and effort. If you want a healthy body, you need to maintain it. The same applies for a business, a relationship, a car, a house, a website or a blog.
