Blogging is a journey. Where in order to be successful, you will learn many new things. It is not just a case of writing a few posts. When becoming a blogger, you will take on many roles, such as writing, marketing, SEO using Photoshop and maybe even creating videos or even a podcast.
Become addicted to learning
My involvement in blogging has allowed me to become a better multimedia designer, marketer and budding entrepreneur. In order to be successful, you need to motivate yourself. When I studied my multimedia degree the information that our lecturers was teaching easily was 5 years out of date. After completing my degree I found myself learning CSS, XHTML, PHP and SEO. I have learnt more in my own time, than any college lecturer has ever taught me.
Successful blogging tips
Like the Famous quote ”A journey of a thousand miles starts with one step”.
In the world of blogging you will need to be flexible and creative with your approach in order to succeed.
As a blogger you will learn:
1) How to be a better writer. When you begin blogging one of the hardest parts is beginning to write. But after the first 30 or 40 posts the process was effortless and I was able to write 3 or 4 posts in one session.
2) You will research your niche, educate yourself and create new content. In order to be successful in life, we need to educate ourselves in our personal time. One of the best ways is to become well read. Read about what you are passionate about, this will not only help you, but your blog readers as well.
3) Learn how to Market a blog. When you develop a blog you will want to generate traffic to your blog. This is a great part of blogging. Personally, marketing and promotion are some of the most exciting parts of blogging. The challenge of generating lots of traffic to my content, that I take great pride in.
4)You will also learn Search Engine Optimisation or SEO for short. You will learn how to get your blog to the top of the search engine rankings. This is a great skill to have, for me seeing my web pages on the first page of Google is a big achievement for me.

Writing an appropriate post that would catch a reader’s attention is a big challenge, anyone must be ready to come up with ideas that will make readers keep coming back. (When I started blogging a couple of months ago on a blogspot blog, I started at 9M and migrated to WordPress after 2 months with a 1.5M Alexa rank and now I moved into a new self-hosted domain and ranked 8M in Alexa in just a week, as always the first post is the crucial part of blogging.)
