Hi James,

Yes I know, its like Alexa it is reporting only 58 or 60 links to my site but I have 12,000 so they do as they like and does not mean better. The same happens with Google they are reporting about 650 or so links to my site, but I know I have a lot more from related sites, so why are not taken into consideration. That´s why I do not trust Google.

The statement "We do it to improve the search relevancy" its just bull@%$#, excuse my french, lol.

But I have seen manual personal slaps and they are not improving any relevancy, like they did to John Chow, how more relevant could be than JohnChow.com for keywords John Chow, that can only be a manual slap, I know they want it to ban him because of his link building campaign but they did not improve their search at all banning him from his own name.

You can find him in the first page only because he is in other sites like Twitter but you cannot find his own site on first page and I know he have a lot more traffic than NotJohnChow.com but he is in the first page.

All this make me realize G just do all this changes to improve their income and nothing else.

I can understand we you don't really trust Google. Google doesn't seem to place all the reference of hyperlinks on the Google Pagerank neither.

I know Mikael, is just I do not rely on Google too much and I am always looking alternatives to see the difference.

Google may work in strange ways and are always changing without warning and that make me very difficult to trust them too much.

I still in the search for more Stats tools to see more accurate stats from my site.

Luis, I'm not sure that I understand what you're trying to say? Please not that I'm not stating anything about how Google Analytics work but merely what things could affect the results.

Hi Mikael,

I personally do not like too much Google. About those 2 secs, what if you have some guys coming to your site from search engines and do not like your site but click away in your PPC´s then I really welcome those guys, even more I invite them to come ad just click away from my site using my PPC´s, lol.

So I think they have to be taken into consideration, maybe they are not becoming loyal readers but they can still make you some money.

I also check StatPress plugin that seems not taking my visits into consideration so I assume it must be fine.

@Luis, I can't confirm that Analytics is reliable either. There are a lot of opinions floating online about what is reliable and what isn't but it all comes down to what you believe should be part of the stats.

Should your stats show a visitors that sees your site for 2 sec and then hits the back button or should it only show visitors that visit for at least 10 sec and sees 2 pages or more? There are opinions on both and neither is right or wrong.

Personally I'll go with GA because is shows the lowest count and then at least I know I', not counting in too much :)

Hi Mikael,

So the only reliable stats are the ones from Google? Are not anyone else that could be reliable?

@Luis, I believe that AWstats counts visits from search engine bots as visits and they can easily have visited your site several hundred times a day as there are lots of different bots.

Hi James,

Well you indeed are Professional in video editing.

I still do not understand the extreme difference from Awstats and Google.

Few month back I got about 13000 visits in a month according to Awstats but Google says it was only 3000. But if the other 10000 visits where made from me it seems unrealistic, I cannot visit my site 333 times per day every day for a month. Or maybe Awstats is reading something else too, I dont know.

Hi Mikael,

I am please you like the video. I would be grateful, if you anyone could share this video.

I prefer Google Analytics, it is a very good free product.
Thanks for correcting me, yes you are correct you can block your I.P. address. It is a good idea to do so. i've done it on all my machine to give unbaised results.

AWSTATS is more impressive for advertising.

All the best,

Hi James, nice video. Just a little correction to your comment to Luis. Google Analytics will show your own visits unless you actively block your IP.

Personally I prefer GA as I find it to be more accurate than AWstats which I find to greatly inflate the number of actual visits.

However if you're trying to sell something that is meant to generate traffic to your customers sites then AWstats is the way to go because of the much higher numbers it'll give you.

I actually find it funny to see how many marketers selling traffic are using AWstats and not Analytics :)

Hi Nicolas,

That is very true. I strongly feel that the video is the best way to go. I am enjoying it. The readers seem to be enjoying it. Slowly but surely I will get there. I am pleased with the progress made this month.

Many Thanks
