I’ve just been driving around town and there are many businesses that have their advertising printed on their vehicles. In my opinion, advertising on company vehicles is an excellent method of promotion for local business.

I noticed that a lot of the vehicles have emails that are Yahoo, MSN or free email addresses provided by their broadband company. Don’t get me wrong free emails accounts are great, but not for your business.

Reasons to buy a domain for e-mail

1. A domain name looks much more professional than a MSN, Hotmail or Yahoo account.
2. When you purchase a domain address this belongs to you.
3. By having a domain address it increases the strength of your brand.
4. You can use a domain only for e-mails if you wish. But having a website or blog is also a good idea.
5. Increases brand awareness.
6. Buying a domain is easy.
7. Buying your domain is very inexpensive you can buy a .com for £8 per year and for the US readers you can buy a .com for about $10 per year.
8. You have complete freedom of your domain address and you own it.

I would stick to having your own domain, because then you are in complete control of e-mails.
