Link baiting is where you generate some useful content on your blog (this is your bait) in order to gain backlinks. Think of link baiting as fishing. In essence we are baiting our resources for an exchange of links.
The better of bait, the better links that we should receive. Link baiting is an art. It is about knowing what our target audience wants and then marketing our content.

Create a giveaway to increase your backlinks, but make sure the prize is worthwhile. It could an iPod, an iPhone, money or something that your target audience could find useful.
