I’ve been learning about blogging for quite some time now. There are many reasons why a blog is better than a static website. In fact, I can think of about 101 reasons for one.

  1. Blogging software such as WordPress is open-source (free)
  2. Millions of people use WordPress
  3. There is always help on the Internet for bloggers
  4. WordPress has thousands of free widgets
  5. Search engines love blogs because Google reads HTML
  6. A blog is fast and simple to install
  7. There are thousands of free templates available
  8. You can create your own look and theme for your blog with some knowledge of CSS and HTML
  9. You don’t need any expensive software to use a blog
  10. All you need is a reliable web host. A good web host can be very affordable
  11. Maintaining a blog is easy
  12. When using a blog you don’t read to modify every single page as a blog will do it for you
  13. The WordPress platform is continuously being improved
  14. You can add elements of multimedia, including, photos, video, opinions polls and more to your blog easily
  15. You can update your content easily without calling a web designer
  16. You can update your blog anywhere with an Internet connection
  17. Content can be written in advance and published at a certain time, ideal when you are on holiday
  18. You can easily build a collection of posts related to your niche
  19. Search engines crawl frequently updated blogs more often than a static website
  20. Blogs are search engine friendly
  21. You can write a good post in 20 to 30 minutes
  22. You will become a better writer
  23. You become will more interested in your niche than ever before (If you are passionate about it!)

    Reason 101 is probably the most important one of them all. Create a blog delivers useful and resourceful content, where your readers will return to. Overtime you can build trust and convert those readers into a fans, or if you have a product customers.
