101 lessons blogging has taught me
Blogging lessons
After creating over 100 blog posts there is no doubt you are going to learn a thing or two. Well, I’ve learnt at least 101 lessons. As I write another 100 plus blog posts I am certain this progress will continue.
1. Your main purpose is to create content and serve your community
2. Blog readers are interested in having a problem solved or looking for fun or entertainment
3. Let go of your ego. Nobody cares about you
4. If you are into blogging for just money you will fail
5. Don’t think that every blogger is interested in your agenda, bloggers have may have own agenda
6. Focus on your blog first before creating guest posts
7. Build relationships with other bloggers. This will serve as a long term model for your blog’s success
8. Interview other bloggers
9. Find creative ways to be more productive
10. Venue into using videos and podcasts
11. Set guidelines for blog commenting
12. Don’t overload your blog full of adverts
13. Research other blogs and see how you can improve your blog
14. View other peoples blogs, for inspiration and to learn
15. Focus on creating good content
16. Don’t worry about PageRank or Technorati authority focus more on good content.
17. Advertise your blog through Twitter and Facebook
18. create a Facebook groups
19. Create a YouTube account
20. Write your blog posts with passion
21. Find bloggers to cross promote your thoughts services and products
22. Use good web hosting
23. Create a newsletter
24. Have a mailing list
25. Learn SEO
26. Use Wordpress on your own web hosting package
27. Have a clear, easy to use interface
28. Never use a black background to display white text
29. Create a free ebook
30. Create a free product for your mailing list subscribers
31. Write down goals why you are creating a blog
32. Attach a Facebook profile to your blog
33. Reward your monthly top commentators
34. Comment on other blogs
35. Create a comments policy
36. Create videos and upload them to tubemorgul.com
37. Use Stumbleupon
38. Get other bloggers involved in your group
39. Remember to use SEO on your blog
40. Write on your blog at least 3 times a week
41. Ask what your blog community wants

43. Help others, but don’t people take advantage

45. If you are going to promote someones product make sure you can use it and have positive feedback.

51. People on the web skim through text so make your content managble

54. Create a regular weekly feature
55. Be original
56. Host giveaways
57. Change your permalinks in Wordpress to search engine friendly
58. Include social media booking plugins at the bottom of your blog post
59. Install Google Analytics
60. Read other peoples blogs
61. Read articles and books related in your field
62. Keep your content relevant to your blog
63. Set goals for your blog on a 3 month, 6 month, 12 month and 18 month scale.
64. Experiment with different ideas
65. Use your blog as a way of generating leads
66. Create a series of pillar articles this can be 3,5 or 7 posts to make up your series.
67. Optimise your content for google
68. Comments are important make sure that you ask your community to add a comment
69. Learn how to drive traffic and create conversations
70. When creativity is getting low include an interesting yet relevant YouTube video in a blog post
71. Look at your competition and see how you cam improve
72. Create tutorials and place these on high traffic websites
73. If struggling for time, pay a writer to generate articles on your blog
74. If your grammar or spelling could do with some improvement get a good book on the English language
75. When time is tight outsource your work
